As featured in our "Summer Savvy Mom" series from last year, here are several ways to thrive (and not just survive) your summer. Pick and choose what works for you-- and we'd love to hear YOUR ideas as well!

1) ENCOURAGE POSITIVE ATTITUDES

This is a great tool to use if your kids aren't obeying as quickly as you'd like them to, or if they need some extra motivation to work. My kids are already coming up with ideas of what to write on this summer's jar. Read about it here.

2) MAKE READING FUN

Need help encouraging your kids to read? Make it a friend affair! MoreĀ here.

3) DEVELOP RESPONSIBILITY WITH A "SUMMER JOB"

This was Soni's idea, and we tried it out ourselves last year. We absolutely loved it, and I was surprised how much my kids made. DetailsĀ here.

4) TEACH NEW SKILLS

An AWESOME way to motivate your kids to learn new skills (fold socks, vacuum a car, make doctor appointments, change a tire, shop online, mop floors, dust tables...) The possibilities are endless! Read about it here.

5) MANAGE MEDIA TIME

Would your kids LOVE to waste the summer away watching TV or gaming? This is a tried and true method for managing media time over the summer. Details here.

6) EXERCISE TOGETHER!

Just for fun, here's a list of ways to exercise with your kids that you might not have thought of before. (We're trying Geocaching for the first time in June. So excited.)
